To use packet capture through the GUI, your FortiGate model must have internal storage and disk logging must be enabled. Since port 1 receives the ICMP echo request, the reply will be sent out via the same port1. Packet capture is also called network tapping, packet sniffing, or logic analyzing. An ICMP reply is received from host 2 which is then forwarded to port 1.
